You will sail on a replica of an original Vechtzomp, also known as an Enterse Zomp, as they sailed on the Vecht and Regge from around 1700 to around 1930. It is not a ‘loose Zomp’, like the other Zomps on the Vecht and Regge, but a so-called ‘fixed Zomp’. Built entirely of oak. Under the guidance of a professional shipbuilder, a group of volunteers built this ship from June 2020 to April 2023. Followed on King's Day 2023 by the christening and launching by Lotte Steen & Lotte van Elburg, great-grandchildren of the last Ommer Zomp skippers. 

The ‘Hanzestad Ommen’ is registered in the ‘Studbook Round- & flat-bottomed’ (SSRP) and the ‘Register Varend Erfgoed Nederland’ (RVEN) We always sail with a skipper and guide on board. You will receive a lot of information about the Vechtzomp, the nature and history of the Vechtdal and of course the river Vecht. We sail electrically, so you can enjoy the surroundings and the stories of the guide in peace. A boat trip normally takes about two hours.

Useful to know

• A boat trip takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
• Boarding point: Vechtkade near restaurant “Het Paviljoen/De Veghte”
• Small dogs allowed, only in (own) small bench.
• Lifting platform on board, guests with limited mobility/wheelchairs are possible in consultation.
• For small children without a swimming certificate, we strongly advise wearing a life jacket (we have a few available). Choice and responsibility of supervisor!
• Children under the age of 12 must always be accompanied and responsible by an adult.
• You sail at your own risk. Stichting Vechtzomp Ommen is not liable for any damage whatsoever.
